Acropolis Hotels, which runs Cedar Court Hotels, including one in Bradford, said it will continue to invest after business improved slightly in 2013.
Kevin Henry, group managing director, said the improvement in business was due to both corporate and leisure customers as the economy picked up.
Mr Henry said the group had invested in better bedrooms and IT systems.
Mr Henry looked forward to a tourism boost from the Tour de France Grand Depart in July.
Figures filed at Companies House for the year ended December 31, 2012, show that the group undertook a property revaluation in 2012. Reduced property values since the financial crisis was one reason the business saw a pre-tax loss of £9 million on turnover of £15 million.
