Help is at hand for people wanting to trace their ancestry.
Bradford Council's libraries service has teamed up with Bradford College to stage three ten-week courses in Keighley.
Participants will receive expert help and guidance on tracing their family history by using library resources such as military records, ancestry websites, the census and birth, marriage and death indexes.
The courses start on Tuesday, January 21, between 10am and noon and then from noon to 2pm. The third begins on January 21, between 10am and noon.
All three are at Keighley Local Studies Library.
A fourth course is being staged in Bradford.
Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, the council’s executive member for culture, said: “Researching family history is absolutely fascinating and with millions of records available online there has never been a better time to delve into who your ancestors were.
“These courses have been extremely popular in previous years. With so much information out there, it’s useful to have an expert give you some hints and tips of where to start.”
The cost is £56 per person, or free to people in receipt of certain benefits.
