Firefighters discovered a cannabis factory only yards from a Bradford mosque after a building caught fire today.
Police estimate the cannabis to be valued at about £35,000 and are now hunting for the owners of the building in Al Amin Square.
A crew from Bradford fire station were called to a building, in a business area called Chelmsford Yard - behind the Al Amin mosque, at 7.45am after neighbours reported seeing smoke.
After breaking into the building, the crew found that is was being used to cultivate cannabis.
The fire is thought to have been caused by an electricity meter overloading. The theory is that the meter was being bypassed to run lamps to help grow the 90 plants.
The fire caused smoke damage to the interior of the building.
