A home in the district threw a party as one if its residents celebrated her 100th birthday.
Homecroft Residential Home in Ilkley welcomed the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Khadim Hussain, to celebrate Doreen Ferrend’s birthday.
Mrs Ferrend, who is originally from Leeds, worked as a counter cashier in the city’s Provincial Building Society. Her husband, Sydney, ran a hairdressing business in Leeds. The couple moved to Ilkley in 1968.
