A new-look post office offering was opened in Bingley by local MP Philip Davies yesterday morning.
And after he snipped a celebration ribbon, regular customers declared the Main Street office to be cut above the cluttered old premises.
“Post offices have a vital role in all communities and this is a welcome improvement,” Mr Davies said.
Subpostmistress Narmal Sandhu has run the cornershop business for seven years.
She said: “The new set-up with the open counters means it’s a much more friendly environment so it will be much easier to talk to customers.”
Regular customers Robert and Hazel Brown of Gilstead praised the refurbishment.
“It’s much better that it was,” said Mr Brown, 89. “When you came in before you were never really sure where to queue.”
As well as the new layout, Bingley Post Office has extended opening hours with and extra five hours on Saturdays.
