As a late replacement for Samantha Fish next month, Keighley Blues Club has managed to secure a gig from ‘the world’s greatest swing band’.
That’s according to Ronnie Scott’s anyway, and they know a thing or two about music down there.
Acclaimed six-piece King Pleasure And The Biscuit Boys’ all-action, no-holds-barred approach to the American rhythm and blues, jump, jive and swing quickly established them internationally as the ‘Kings of Swing’.
On the road for more than three decades, the band have made more than 80 TV appearances in nine countries, recorded 11 albums, played more than 4,500 performances throughout Europe and shared the stage with such legends as BB King, Cab Calloway and his Cotton Club Orchestra and the original Blues Brothers Band from the movie.
With dazzling musicianship, the band is said to put on a rivetting stage performance. Just the ticket for a cold winter night.
King Pleasure And The Biscuit Boys will be at Keighley Blues Club on Friday, February 7. For tickets call (01535) 600310, e-mail bbj21@btinternet.com or visit keighleybluesclub.net.
