Police and an ambulance crew attended a crash in Wakefield Road, Bradford which left a car perched on central reservation railings yesterday.
The Nissan Micra appeared to have veered off the Bradford side of the carriageway, near The Gallopers pub, shortly before 7am with the back of the car ending up on top of the railings.
The woman driver was left shocked but uninjured.
A passer-by said: “I don’t know how it’s happened. It looked as though it could have dropped from the sky. There didn’t seem to be any other vehicles involved although there was a low-loader parked nearby.
“I think people were just stopping to look. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
It is not known if anyone was hurt.
The incident caused substantial congestion on nearby routes into the city centre.
