Police are putting the brakes on nuisance drivers who regularly meet each night at a Keighley shopping park.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team is making regular swoops on Keighley Retail Park to break up the gatherings. Officers yesterday confirmed 15 motorists had been spoken to regarding offences such as driving with no tax or insurance.
And they pledged to continue patrolling the car park, which is off Hard Ings Road near Keighley’s KFC and McDonald’s outlets.
The police launched the clampdown in response to complaints from residents of Lawkholme and Showfield whose homes overlook the retail park.
District councillor Abid Hussain, whose Keighley Central Ward includes the retail park, said: “The police are aware of it and are looking into it very seriously. We fully support the police action.”
