Commuters approaching Bradford from the south are experiencing delays this morning after an accident on Wakefield Road, Bradford.
Police and ambulance staff attended the scene after a car was left perched on the central reservation railings.
The car, believed to be a Nissan Micra, appeared to have veered off the Bradford side of the carriageway, near The Gallopers pub.
The incident happened shortly before 7am. The woman driver of the car escaped uninjured.
The rear end of the vehicle was on top of the railings.
A passer-by said: ‘‘I don’t know how it’s happened. It looked as though it could have dropped from the sky.
" There didn’t seem to be any other vehicles involved, although there was a low-loader parked nearby. I think people were just stopping to look. I’ve never seen anything like it."
The incident has caused delays on Tong Street and Rooley Lane, with traffic also stretching back onto the M606.
