SIR - After reading the article about Randolph Victor's banners (T&A, December 11) I was shocked to hear the Council demanding he take them down.
An eyesore - really? Surely not compared to all the other gateways into the city which the Council has had to pay to improve because residents in those areas couldn't be bothered to.
Leeds Road, Barkerend Road and Manchester Road - all prime examples and let's not put this down to deprivation because taking pride in where you live and taking care of your house and garden costs next to nothing.
The message comes loud and clear. Do nothing, contribute nothing, care nothing and we will come and do it for you. Try to make things better for yourself and others and you will be penalised.
Merry Christmas Bradford Council.
