Police arrested two men in Bradford on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle yesterday morning.
After receiving no answer at the door of an address in Manningham, officers sounded sirens outside the property, causing one of the suspects to “peer out of a bedroom window like a meerkat.”
After officers attempted to force entry, the door was opened by the man, who was immediately arrested.
A police helicopter was used to perform an unsuccessful search of the roof of the building for the second suspect, but he was eventually found when officers discovered a hatch to a wall cavity in which he was hiding.
Both men were remanded in custody yesterday awaiting interview by West Yorkshire Police.
