The Yorkshire Dales Society will be focusing its attention on Skipton on Saturday.
Jean Robinson, chairman of the Friends of Raikes Road Burial Ground, will lead a free walk around Skipton, including an extended visit to the forgotten burial ground which gives an insight into the town’s Victorian community. Those wishing to take part in the walk, which will last about two hours, should meet outside Skipton Library at 10.30am.
In the afternoon, historian Dr David Johnson will share his research on historic pubs in the Dales at St Andrew’s Church Hall, on Newmarket Street, from 2.15pm.
Admission is free for YDS members and £3 for visitors. For more information, visit yds.org.uk or call (01756) 749400.
