A film exploring the lives and livelihood of people on a small Yorkshire farm is to be shot in and around Keighley.
Film maker Francis Lee has been scouting for suitable locations in Keighley and Haworth for his planned feature film called God’s Own Country.
He has completed a pair of award-winning short films – The Farmer’s Wife and Bradford Halifax London.
Before he began making films two years ago he was an actor in theatre, television and films.
Mr Lee, of Halifax, said he would be shooting at his father Carson’s farm, Far Laithe Farm, Laycock.
He said: “We haven’t got any firm filming dates yet – we’re still pulling together the locations, the cast and the funding. The feature film will be about rural Yorkshire life, which I haven’t seen depicted on screen before in a modern context. It’s incredible to think that people are still making a living out of these small farms.”
