West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has urged people to take extra care during a strike by the Fire Brigades Union between 6.30am and 8.30am tomorrow.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Steve Beckley said: “This will be the ninth period of strike action we have experienced in the last few months and we are confident that our contingency plans are robust.
“However, we would remind the public that this is a period of reduced cover and we are asking them to take extra care in the morning. Weather reports suggest we may experience heavy showers and wind early morning so please take care while driving to work.
“Also, loose items, such as trampolines, can cause problems in high winds so please ensure they are safely stowed.”
The strike action relates to an on-going dispute between the FBU and the Government over its public sector pension reform programme.
