A Government planning inspector has overturned a Bradford Council decision to block a takeaway from opening in Denholme.
Lisa Hardy had applied for permission to change the use of the Granny Hardy’s Kitchen cafe in Station Road to a hot food takeaway.
The application was refused in May, with the Council citing concerns over parking, its unsuitability for a residential area and the way in which food smells would be extracted. Now an inspector has decided the application should have been allowed.
The inspector N McGurk said: “I find that the proposal would not lead to levels of noise and disturbance unduly greater than those already experienced in the area. During my site visit I noted that there appeared to be plenty of opportunities for car parking.”
But he states the takeaway should close between 11pm and 8am.
