A female staff member with West Yorkshire Ambulance Service is to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court accused of sexually assaulting a male colleague.

Frances Glover, 32, is alleged to have rubbed herself up against the man and then repeated the action and made suggestive comments to him.

It was stated in court that the man reported the matter within the ambulance service and the police were later informed of the allegation.

Glover made a first appearance at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court yesterday when she pleaded not guilty to the charge.

She is accused of intentionally touching a colleague sexually when he did not consent and she did not reasonably believe that he was consenting, at various locations in West Yorkshire, between January 21 and 23, 2012, contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Glover wore her hair in a blonde bob and had on a smart dark red dress for the short hearing.

The court was told the alleged offence could be tried by either the magistrates or at Bradford Crown Court.

Prosecutor Nadine Clough said the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was working when the alleged assaults happened.

Glover is accused of rubbing up against his back and repeating that behaviour the same night and afterwards.

The panel of Justices agreed that the case could be heard by magistrates, saying it was suitable for summary trial.

But Glover, of Green Road, Sheffield, elected to be committed to the Crown Court where her case will be heard by a judge and jury.

She was remanded on unconditional bail until a date in the New Year when she must attend at the Crown Court for a preliminary hearing when a trial date will be fixed.
