A man has voluntarily contacted British Transport Police following an appeal for information after a train guard was verbally abused by a passenger on a train between Leeds and Ilkley.
The man will be interviewed by investigating officers in due course.
Investigators had released an image of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at 9.10pm on Friday, December 6.
PC Sam Bloomfield, of British Transport Police, said: “A man was travelling on the 9.06pm Leeds to Ilkley service when he became involved in a verbal dispute with the train guard about his ticket.
“During the journey the man followed the guard through the train and verbally abused him before getting off at Guiseley.”
