An elderly woman fractured her ribs after falling when an intruder raided her home.
Police are appealing for information to the burglary, which happened at a house in Back Lane, Thornton, Bradford, at 4.30am yesterday.
Police said the occupants were woken by an intruder in a bedroom. They challenged the man, who pushed past them before running out of the property.
One of the occupants, a woman in her 70s, fell as she got up to investigate and was taken to hospital with suspected fractured ribs. She was in a stable condition last night.
The intruder was described as white and of above average height. He was wearing a black woollen hat and dark clothing.
No vehicle was seen and it is not known in which direction the man left. It is if anything was stolen.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bradford CID on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
