A 21-year-old man is to appear at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday, January 14, charged with armed robbery at Coral bookmakers in Harrogate Road, Greengates, Bradford, on June 19.
Martin Adair, of Folkton Holme, Fagley, Bradford, was sent to the Crown Court by Bradford and Keighley Magistrates today.
He wore a grey sweatshirt when he appeared on bail for the short hearing.
Adair is alleged to have robbed the bookmakers of £1,000 while in possession of a handgun with intent to cause Joanne Middleton and Joanne Dobson to believe that unlawful violence would be used against them.
He is also accused of threatening to smash Deborah Grant’s face at the bookmakers on June 18 and blackmail at the premises the following day, by demanding with menaces that money bet at Coral be returned to him.
Magistrates extended Adair’s bail on condition he does not enter the Coral bookmakers shop or approach or contact any prosecution witnesses.
