The sudden death of a man on the top floor of a tower block has sparked a police appeal for information.
The body of the 41-year-old was discovered in a flat on the 11th floor of Delph House, Parkwood Rise, Keighley, after a call was made to police at 3.23pm on Sunday.
Residents at the apartment block said yesterday that the man who died had been visiting a couple who live at that address.
“The police came round yesterday evening and were asking if anyone had seen or heard anything during Saturday night between 10pm and 11pm,” said one resident, who did not want to be named.
“I’ve been told it was someone who was paying a visit.”
West Yorkshire Police said there was an ongoing inquiry into the circumstances of the man’s death and a post-mortem examination was scheduled to be carried out yesterday to try to determine the cause.
Bradford Coroner’s office said formal identification of the victim was expected to take place today.
Charity workers Patrick and Liz McDonnell are regular visitors to Delph House where they distribute some 60 food parcels every fortnight as part of the Keighley-based Living Lights Christian Outreach.
“We go up there every two weeks with our mobile food bank and also give out advice and support,” said Mr McDonnell. “We work with people up there who are suffering hardship, but there is definitely a growing sense of community at Delph House.
“People will be shocked and saddened by someone having died suddenly at this time of year – as are we.”
Living Lights Christian Outreach is based at the Nazarene Church in Oakworth Road, Keighley, and its food bank is backed by the town's Asda store. Mr McDonnell can be contacted on 07401 999399.
