Three people were in police custody last night after a 23-year-old man was found unconscious in a street.

The discovery was made by a neighbour in Woodhall View, Thornbury, Bradford, at 7am yesterday.

The man was lying on an unmade road close to some disused garages and had suffered a head injury.

He was taken to the Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Police cordoned off part of the street at nearby Woodhall Place and Woodhall Terrace while a scenes of crime team searched the area.

Police arrested two 19-year-old men and third man of a similar age on suspicion of assault.

Officers said it appeared the man had been assaulted.
