Oakworth morris dancers plan to raise a glass to new members.

They are offering a free pint to anyone who tries out at their first practice session of the new year.

Oakworth Village Morris Men hope to attract prospective male dancers as well as male or female musicians.

Leader Nigel Yeo said: “No previous dancing experience is necessary. What is needed is enthusiasm and a wish to help maintain an ancient English tradition.

“Morris dancing is a rewarding hobby both in performance and the social side of attending events around the country.”

The recruitment night is on Monday, January 13, from 8pm at Oakworth Methodist Chapel. If you are unable to attend, but are interested in joining, contact Pete Spurr on (01274) 402927.
