A Bradford-based faith group helped collect food for needy families this Christmas.
The Yorkshire branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission, based in Napier Street, gathered goods to donate to the volunteer-run Bradford Metropolitan Foodbank.
Youngsters at the branch decided to collect food after reading about the foodbank’s plea for much-needed extra supplies to meet with ever-rising demand.
More than 50 bags of supplies were collected and delivered to the foodbank’s store.
Mohinder Ram, volunteer in charge at the branch, said: “It was very encouraging to see the youth wanting to share a little joy of Christmas with others less fortunate than themselves.”
Lashman Singh, founder of the Bradford Metropolitan Foodbank, paid a visit to the branch to thank the youngsters for their efforts.
