A group for young people with learning difficulties is starting 2014 with some new fun equipment – thanks to Otley Lions.
The Lions presented the Beehive club with an air hockey table and a television at the Cross Green Community Centre, where they were joined by MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West).
The presentation co-incided with the group’s move back into the building following a major refurbishment, and was also attended by the director of the People in Action Group – Beehive's parent organisation – Aquila Choudhry.
Otley Lions, after finding out about the club, had asked them what items would help and then bought the TV, which will be used for Wii games, and hockey table.
Beehive is led by People in Action’s Changing Lives service manager, Geraldine Nichols, and has 12 members who meet at the community centre each Thursday evening.
