A man in his 20s was killed after being pinned under a caravan in Gomersal early today.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to the junction of Church Lane and Muffit Lane at 1.30am to reports of a person trapped under a caravan.

They released the man, who has yet to be identified, but he died at the scene.

The caravan was being towed by a vehicle, and the victim is thought to have been a pedestrian.

Police closed to road to investigate, re-opening it at 5.18am.

They said it was unlikely anyone would be arrested over the incident.
