A £5 million price tag has been put on Otley’s proposed new multi-purpose sports centre.
As previously reported, the steering committee behind the Chevin Olympic Park is busy drawing up a business plan. The ambitious Olympic legacy scheme aims to create first class facilities for local cyclists, athletes and other sports enthusiasts including football, rugby and hockey players.
The £5 million estimated cost was revealed at the latest meeting of the area’s steering committee and the facilities that sum would provide would include:
* A 400-metre athletics track, an outdoor cycle route, and an athletics throwing area
* A two storey clubhouse
* A full size artificial football and rugby pitch and hockey pitch, and floodlighting.
