A girl has got rid of her blonde hair to help a family friend who has been fighting cancer.
Six-year-old Ellie Crawford, of Gibb Street, Cowling had her hair cut at Cross Hills Co-op on Saturday.
Her hair will be made into a wig for eight-year-old Glusburn youngster Tyler Manley, who is recovering from a major operation to have a tumour removed from her brain.
Stylists Louise Hargreaves and Liz Clayton, from The Hair Shop, Cross Hills, cut Ellie’s hair and the special event also included a raffle, with prizes arranged by Ellie’s gran Joyce Crawford, who works in the Co-op.
And money raised via collection tins stationed in Cross Hills and Cowling will go towards Ward 52 at Leeds General Infirmary, where Tyler was initially treated.
