Bradford Girls’ Grammar pupil Hadeeqah Akhtar, 11, has been baking treats to raise money for victims of the recent Philippines typhoon disaster.
Hadeeqah has been selling cakes to friends during school break times and at weekends at her parents’ Cafe Patisserie business to raise money for Shelterbox, an international charity that raises funds for families made homeless by natural disasters.
So far she has made more than £100.
"At this special time of year when everyone is thinking about family and friends it is so wonderful that Hadeeqah has chosen to help others less fortunate," said Hadeeqah’s mother, Shagufta Shaheen.
“All her family and friends are extremely proud of her."
