A talented textile student at Ilkley Grammar School finished in the top ten of the Clothes Show Live Competition.
Year 11 pupil Adam Leach was one of 20 students who reached the final in Birmingham. The 15-year-old was entered into the contest by his textiles teacher Kay Emsley in October.
Adam’s brief was a modern take on the 1920s: design a vintage handbag.
A school spokesman said: “We are very proud of him – he did tremendously. Adam did fantastically well to get through as one of the final ten and the quality of workmanship on display was outstanding.
“There could only be one winner and unfortunately it wasn’t to be Adam this year.”
Adam said: “I am thrilled with my achievements.”
