An MP was the guest as Holy Family School, Keighley, celebrated the successes of its exam students.
Kris Hopkins (Con, Keighley) recalled how he had returned to education as an adult and said he was delighted to help Holy Family recognise the achievement of young people who had done things correctly on their first attempt.
The Celebration of Achievement evening honoured year 11 students who took GCSEs last summer.
Exam certificates were distributed, along with subject awards and special awards for attendance, attainment, progress and service to the school.
Headteacher Lawrence Batley spoke of his good fortune leading a school where results were steadily rising year-on-year.
