The Mind shop in Ilkley is appealing for residents to bring in unwanted presents to meet increased demand for shop sales.
People who have had to tighten their belts in this period of austerity, are flocking to charity stores in search of gifts and The Mind shop needs to re-stock its shelves with good quality clothing, winter coats, accessories, CDs and DVDs.
Manager Angela Yelverton said: “Christmas is a time when everyone would like to buy and give gifts to their loved ones. This year many people are feeling the pinch, and charity shops are proving to be a great option for those on a budget.
“However, due to a dearth in donations, Mind cannot meet the additional demand. The Mind shop in Ilkley is therefore asking people to look carefully at last year’s gifts, that they no longer need and donate them to make someone’s Christmas wishes come true. Anything you can spare would be welcome.”
