A Keighley hair salon is a sitting target for thieves following its sixth burglary in as many years, claims its manager.
Stefania Rifidi has demanded action to improve security at the rear of Hair Avanti in Cavendish Street.
She believes it is currently too easy for criminals to operate undisturbed in secluded Back Cavendish Street.
The cobbled alleyway is a notorious hangout for drug users, fly tippers and homeless people.
Miss Rifidi spoke out after thieves stole ten top-of-the-range GHD and Cloud 9 hair straighteners, together worth more than £1,000, in the early hours.
She said: “We had to bring in our equipment from home. We’re busy at Christmas, so we needed all of them.”
Hair Avanti was founded by Stefania’s father, Nino Rifidi, in 1979.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said neighbourhood policing officers were monitoring the situation in Back Cavendish Street.
