A change in the law to compel EU jobseekers to wait three months before they can claim out-of-work benefits in this country has been backed by Keighley and Ilkley MP Kris Hopkins.
The measure will take effect on January 1.
Mr Hopkins said: “We believe it is essential to do all we can to deter migrants from coming here to exploit our public services and our benefits system.
“As a result of strong action the present government is taking, our country is becoming a less attractive destination for foreign migrants to arrive and seek to live off the British taxpayer.”
