A business hub in Keighley will open today to help young people get the skills they need to find work.
The centre will offer opportunities and services, including skills development, employment, enterprise and recreation, to help young people in the surrounding area.
The project has been developed by young people with the help of The Co-operative Enterprise Hub and Bradford Council youth service staff, with funding from the Youth Opportunities Fund, supported by councillors and endorsed by the Keighley Area Committee.
Abina Dorgan-Smith, advanced practitioner at the Council’s youth service, said: “Around 30 young people have shown real initiative in developing the hub. It’s really exciting that young people have the opportunity to set up a formal business like this. We’re very grateful to The Co-operative Enterprise Hub for all of their support.”
