Children who are in hospital over the festive period have been given early Christmas presents – thanks to the University of Bradford.
Students and staff at the School of Health Studies have been collecting gifts for children who will be spending the festive season in either Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) or Airedale General Hospital.
They raised more than £180 and collected in excess of 100 gifts.
They were handed out to young patients at the paediatrics unit at BRI on Monday and will be given to children at Airedale Hospital tomorrow.
BRI play leader Alison Kay said: “Christmas is a really special time for many of our families. Our parents are extremely grateful for today’s toy donations as many of them can’t leave their childrens’ side to go shopping, so these gifts are really precious.
“On behalf of all our patients, carers and their families, we would like to say a huge thank you to the School of Health Studies for their visit today.”
