The women of West Yorkshire have decided to give the men a run for their money by posing for a female charity calendar.
‘Real ladies’ from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Royal Sun Alliance, Bradford Bulls and others will feature in the Red Hot Sirens calendar to raise money for charity.
Sarah Gaskin, 36, Halifax, volunteered for the calendar in memory of her dad, Geoff Hill, who died in September 2012, at 76, from pulmonary lung disease. She said: “It’s been a great fundraising activity to be involved in, especially knowing how proud he would have been that I’m helping such a worthwhile cause.”
Money raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Breast Cancer Care, Prostate Cancer UK, and 11 other causes. Last year, the Red Hot Dates calendar, featuring male firefighters, raised £28,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity and other good causes.
Dom Furby, station commander for Illingworth, Mytholmroyd and Todmorden, said: “Please help us support this year’s charities and really make a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire in 2014.”
The calendars are on sale at www.redhotdates.org.uk and fire stations.
