Pupils at a primary school are having a non-uniform day to raise funds for a new charity to help Muslim mums.
Youngsters at Thornbury Primary School, in Dick Lane, will swap uniforms for party clothes on Friday to support the West Yorkshire branch of Children of Jannah, a national grief-recovery charity helping struggling families come to terms with their sorrow.
The local branch is run by one of the school’s mums Rezvana Hassan, 30, who has suffered the heartbreak of seeing two sons die. Mrs Hassan, who has three children at Thornbury Primary, said the bereavement service for Muslim mothers is starting to fill a gap in the district.
