Pupils at Bradford Grammar’s Junior School are to cycle a stage of the Tour de France, climb Mount Everest, run a marathon and swim the Channel in aid of children’s charity Variety.
Tomorrow, pupils will choose an activity and either jointly swim the distance of the Channel in the pool, climb the height of Mount Everest on the climbing wall, ride a stage of the Tour de France in the gym or run the distance of a marathon.
Donations after the Junior School Christmas concert will also go to the charity, which helps children who suffer from sickness, a disability or who have been born into a life of poverty.
Last year in Yorkshire it helped more than 4,500 children to achieve greater independence, freedom and the opportunity to enjoy a wider range of childhood experiences. Nationally the charity helped more than 80,000 children.
