Detectives have released images of a 4X4 vehicle believed to have been used as a getaway car after a shooting and fatal acid attack.

The black Mitsubishi Warrior, which had distinctive blue lighting underneath it, is thought to have driven offenders to and from the scene of the killing of Barry Selby, at his home in Rayleigh Street, East Bowling, Bradford, in the early hours of Monday, October 14.

The same vehicle is thought to have been used when shots were fired at a house in Farway, Holme Wood, in a linked incident four hours earlier.

Police today released an image of the vehicle, captured on CCTV, travelling towards East Bierley, at about 2.15am on Monday, October 14.

They also issued a manufacturer’s photo of an identical vehicle.

The vehicle is a black Mitsubishi Warrior, manufactured between 2006 and 2009. It had distinctive blue under body lighting around its base, like a spaceship, and silver-coloured foot plates and wheel arches.

It left the scene in Rayleigh Street and travelled along Paley Road, Bowling Hall Road and Burras Road to Rooley Lane. The vehicle has not been seen since and detectives are keen to recover it.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Nick Wallen, said: “This is a crucial part of our investigation.

“I would ask people, particularly the people of Bradford, to think hard. Do they remember, or know of, anybody who had one of those cars with distinctive blue lights in October this year? Has that somebody suddenly got rid of that vehicle, or stopped using it?”

Mr Selby, 50, died in hospital three days after masked men broke into his house and attacked him. He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and acid burns. Four men have been charged with murder.
