Bradford East MP David Ward has joined a call for global action to defeat dementia through research as the UK hosted the first G8 Summit on the condition.
The Liberal Democrat MP attended a Westminster reception hosted by George Freeman MP on behalf of Alzheimer’s Research UK and signed a pledge to battle the disease.
A £3 million Dementia Consortium bringing together research experts from the charitable, academic and private sectors has been formed to develop new dementia drugs.
The condition is believed to affect about 5,000 people in Bradford.
