A Bradford man has appeared in court after heroin with an estimated street value of £40 million was found crammed into a Jaguar car.

The 436.5lb (198kg) haul of heroin was hidden in the bumpers, wheel arches, dashboard, central console, spare wheel compartment, engine and rear seating, according to the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Noman Qureshi, 32, of Bradford, and Israr Khan, 34, of Luton, Bedfordshire, have been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin and were remanded in custody after appearing at Luton Magistrates' Court.

The NCA said the car had been delivered to a business in the Romford area of Essex on Friday evening.

During the early hours of Saturday morning two men were arrested in Luton.
