Twenty people have been arrested on suspicion of drink or drug driving since the beginning of North Yorkshire Police’s Christ-mas Safety Campaign.

Eight of the 20 people arrested have been charged.

Traffic sergeant Andy Morton said: “We have been targeting people who think they can get away with drinking and taking drugs before driving.”
