Lucky regulars at Bolton Woods Community Centre were treated to a five star Christmas dinner yesterday, thanks to the generosity of Bradford’s Hilton Hotel.
Chefs and restaurant staff from the hotel prepared and served a three-course meal of starters, turkey and Christmas pudding with all the trimmings, which was enjoyed by 20 elderly guests.
The charitable idea came from Hilton restaurant worker James Morrow, who also helps as a volunteer at the centre.
He suggested it to his bosses, who kindly agreed to provide the special seasonal treat.
“We thought it was a great idea and management were happy to set everything up.
“There were 20 elderly people plus eight community centre staff and everyone had a great time,” said a spokesman for the Bradford Hilton.
