A Bradford husband and wife believed to be the oldest married couple in the UK are celebrating their 88th wedding anniversary this weekend.
Kartari and Karam Chand’s son Paul Chand who runs the Castle pub in Bradford city centre is throwing a party for them on Sunday from 2pm and it is doubling up as a fundraiser for the victims and families of the Glasgow helicopter crash.
The couple, who are still waiting to hear from Guinness World Records to see if they have the longest marriage in the world, celebrated their 101st and 108th birthdays last month with people coming from all over the world.
The Chands, teenagers in India when they were introduced, settled in Bradford more than 40 years ago. They have eight children, 27 grandchildren and more than ten great grandchildren.
Artists who have played at the Castle’s Friday music nights will also be at Sunday's party.
