A senior councillor is urging people to get their free flu jab if they qualify for one.
Councillor Glen Miller, leader of the Conservative Group on Bradford Council, has had his inoculation and is urging others to do the same.
Anyone over 65, pregnant women and two and three-year-olds are entitled to a free flu injection from their GP.
It’s also available to people in at-risk groups, such as those suffering from heart, kidney or lung disease, diabetes, stroke or a lowered immune system, who are 11 times more likely to experience complications if they get the flu.
Coun Miller said: “Flu isn’t just a cold. It can be very serious and can lead to serious complications that can be fatal for those in at-risk groups.”
