Liberal Democrats in Bradford are hosting what they have dubbed a “meet-up in a brewery”.
The gathering at the Salamander Brewery in Harry Street, Bradford, on Friday, January 3, will be a fundraiser for the party.
The organiser, Councillor Geoff Reid (Lib Dem, Eccleshill), said he wanted to prove he could organise a “meet-up in a brewery”.
He said: “I am not using the traditional phrase because it is not that sort of evening.
“I first encountered the Salamander Brewery at a Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) meeting. CAMRA people always know exactly what they are drinking and how much they have had.”
Coun Reid said Bradford East MP David Ward would also be at the meeting.
He said: “After Christmas and new year celebrations we shall offer a gentle fundraising event on Friday, January 3, with decent ale, a bit of food and relaxing conversation with a Member of Parliament. What's not to like? I will even provide times for the last buses home.
“Beer and Politics is a variation on our Undercliffe Pizza and Politics programme. Any members or supporters of other parties who show up will not be turned away, as long as they buy a ticket in advance.”
