A Bingley man driving his wife to the Lake District for their wedding anniversary was caught speeding on the A65 at Clapham, magistrates heard.

David Mark Regan, 51, was caught in a police speed trap doing 88mph on the 60mph road on September 2, the court was told.

Regan, who admitted speeding by letter to court and who had no current endorsements, was driving a high powered Audi RS6.

In his letter to court, Regan, of Gilstead Lane, Bingley, who had a clean licence, said he had been driving for 33 years.
