An MP is encouraging Bradfordians to scrutinise Education Secretary Michael Gove over the Kings Science Academy scandal.
Bradford East MP David Ward wants Bradford residents to send in questions to Mr Gove via Twitter. On Wednesday, December 18, Mr Ward and the House of Commons Education Committee will hold an oral evidence session with Mr Gove.
As part of this session, Mr Ward and his colleagues on the Select Committee are keen to hear what people think about the state of education and children’s services.
There will be four categories for questions: school places, children’s social care, careers guidance in schools and general questions.
The deadline for questions is 5pm on Thursday. Mr Ward said: “As a member of the Education Select Committee I will be asking Michael Gove some serious questions about his role in the handling of the Kings Science Academy debacle.
“The events which occurred at Kings Science Academy along with changes in educational policy as a whole have angered a lot of people.
“It’s important that people have the opportunity to quiz him directly about things that matter to them.”
Submit your question via Twitter, adding hashtags #AskGove#places (for questions on school places) #AskGove#care (for questions on children’s social care #AskGove#careers (for questions on careers) and #AskGove (for other questions).
