Two Craven schools have been listed among the top primary schools in the country.
Kildwick Church of England Primary School and Water Street Primary School in Skipton have been ranked in the Sunday Times Top 500 Primary Schools in the UK.
Kildwick finished at 84th and Water Street was 88th.
Last year, both schools saw all its key stage two pupils achieve level four in English and maths tests, compared to a national average of 79 per cent. And 52 per cent of Kildwick pupils also gained level five passes while 70 per cent of Water Street youngsters achieved the higher grade. Nationally, the figure was 27 per cent.
The headteachers of the two schools said they were pleased by their inclusion in the Sunday Times rankings.
Water Street head Stuart Anslow said the Sunday Times’ schools tables were compiled using data from national SATS tests for 11 year olds in more than 17,000 primary schools across the UK. He said they looked at pupil data over the last three years and scored schools by the percentage of pupils who achieved level four.
