A drug dealer whose front door was so well fortified it took two minutes for the police to break in with a battering ram was today jailed for 18 months.

Mohammed Nasir repeatedly called out to the team of drugs squad officers to “wait” as he frantically tried to hide the stash of heroin he was bagging up for sale on the streets.

But the police, acting on a tip-off, used their “enforcer” to knock down the door, Bradford Crown Court was told.

Prosecutor Jonathan Sharp said the door was so well reinforced it took two minutes to smash down.

Nasir, 33, of Back Girlington Road, Girlington, Bradford, tried to concealed heroin under a throw on the sofa during the raid on April 26.

Officers seized 88 street sized deals of the drug and enough loose powder to make 277 more wraps, Mr Sharp said yesterday.

Pre-cut plastic squares and scales were also recovered.

Nasir pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, with a street value of £1,900, with intent to supply it.

Shufqat Khan, Nasir’s barrister, said he had no convictions for anything similar.

His cannabis use escalated to addiction to Class A drugs and he was pressured by his dealer to store and bag up drugs at his home.

Nasir, who has a partner and two young children, was working for others higher up the chain.
